The Roswell Hispano Chamber of Commerce was established in May, 1987 by individuals and business owners with a vision of focusing on creating and sustaining small minority owned businesses and addressing Hispanic and/or Minority community issues to promote equality and open communication for a better community.
The founding fathers of the Roswell Hispano Chamber of Commerce were: R. G. “Bobby” Villegas, Eloy Ortega, Federico Pardo, Izzy Gutierrez, Bobby Ramirez, Richard Duran, Richard Vigil, Helen Gonzales, Dolores Fresquez and Col. Adrian Martinez.
The Roswell Hispano Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization that is comprised of organizations, committees, media and grassroots efforts, building a network of support with the underlying mission of improvement to the economic development of Roswell. More important, the Roswell Hispano Chamber of Commerce strives to voice the needs of Roswell and Southeastern New Mexico by lobbying for investments in issues specific to our area.
There are many programs and organizations established to meet the needs of our community. Most organizations are built on and by their membership, as is the Roswell Hispano Chamber of Commerce. We receive specific project funding from government, private, public and foundation organizations.
The Roswell Hispano Chamber of Commerce is a coalition of businesses and community members interested in promoting a good economic climate and quality of life.
We distribute member businesses’ promotions, events information and publications. The RHCC has several committees on which a member can volunteer that will allow him/her to meet others in the community. We are dedicated to providing your business with activities, workshops and seminars to meet your needs.
